exhaust question

You will get more opinions on this than almost any other question :rlaugh: . Lets see Magnaflows are popular as well as SLP, Bassani, and Borla. Everyone has their own choice Ive got Flowmasters for now and I will be getting new exhaust myself soon so I will be watching this Thread as well to see all the combos that are given.

OMFG  !!!!!..................jk mang

exhaust sound is 100% subjective to individual preference. what sound do YOU want? deep, classic muscle car, or modern, more exotic nascarish sound?

The "best" is all matter of opinion. I love the way flows sound with an off-road H, so I started with an american thunder catback and will eventually get the midpipe. Some people hate the flows for their drone, but I actually like it. All a matter of opinion.

that is true it all depends on the tone you want and how much you want to spend i personally like my bassani setup :nice: and paid a pretty penny for it too :D

I'd like to see a test to see which mufflers make the most power. Is there much of a difference between them? Probably not.
It all comes down to personal preference and how you want it to sound. While its kinda fun to log on mustangexhaust.com, I don't think it is very accurate representation of what they sound like in real life. Just my opinion anyway.
Also, think ahead. If you think you may want a midpipe of some sort, that may influence the type of catback you chose.

There is and can be BIG differences between mufflers depending on hp level-

While a straight through muffler may only make 6-7 more rwhp on a stock car, on a modified car, a straight through muffler can make up to 15rwhp more-

Too subjective, most are within 1 or so of each other any way.
I'll say what I like in a catback, stainless construction, and mandrel bends. After that is fulfilled it's what you like the sound of and what you can afford. I like the sound of Bassani, and magnapacks. I have Borla cause I got a great deal on it. It has a nice sound, isn't so loud it attracts attention, and construction is great.
Stingers, and 1 chamber flows are freaking loud TOOO loud for a daily driver IMO.
Also seeing as how I spend more time driving my car than listening to it run I base my desicions off that now too. I like Flow's had a bunch of them through the years, but I got tired of the drone (10+years of flowmaster ownership does that) .

the thing is that every exhaust combo is so opinionated. most of the people will recomend borla, magnaflow etc.. you really have to listen to different cat back/ midpipes (if your gonna get one) and decide what you like best. everyone on these boards will have a differnt opinion.
