Hey Guys,
Do you know will a catback system for 99-04 fit on 94-98? Did they change some mounting points on the newer cars? They do list different part #'s.

Has anyone heard the SLP Loudmouth exhaust with the "Resonators" and a High flow catted X pipe?

I am looking at them on Ebay and they only have 99-04, and they say its a modular system because you can change out the resonators and they have 2 different mufflers that will bolt right in.
The system is all Stainless and uses band clamps so you can take them back apart. The tailpipes are 3 piece so I would think that they would have easy adjustmets so they should fit good, and they are a 3.5" tip.

Since Cats quiet a car down so much I thought I would leave them on and get a loud muffler....they are not even calling these mufflers, their "resonators" so I'm wondering how loud it will be. I don't want this car to be as loud as my other one, but I want it louder than it is now with Cats and Flowmasters.

Thanks, Tom

Tom -

Both The Wife's car and my LX have SLP LM1's on them. The Cobra has a stock H-pipe and sounds quite mellow unless you get on it. The car also has a 2.1 Kenne Bell on it. The LX is a H/C/I car with shorty headers, a high flow X with cats and the LM1. It's pretty darned loud. If it was any louder, I probably wouldn't like it much. I would imagine that the LX is very similar to what your cars would sound like with the Loudmouths. If you want to hear either/or, let me know and we'll arrange to get together.

On a side note, the quality of SLP's stuff is absolutely top notch. It fit on both cars like a glove and I would HIGHLY recommend them.

Thanks for the info! I will have to get down there and listen to it. Do you think it is the same or louder than a car with no cats and 2 chamber Flowmasters? Bills Saleen would be a perfect example before he put the Cats on. He did have 2 chambers didn't he?

I like the fact that you can just swap out the resonators for 2 different mufflers if you don't like what you have, or if you just want a change.

I would say that my LX is probably a little louder than Bill's car, but it is a completely different tone. I bought the LM's just for that reason. I wanted my cars to sound different than every other Mustang out there. I really don't think that the catted X made his car much quieter at all. It still sounds badass!

I haven't heard Bills since he put on the cats but on every car I have had, cats make a huge difference...much quieter. Right now my Son has Flowmasters and no cats and I have the same with High flow cats and It's like night and day. Both cars are 95's.

Adam is this what you have? I know I don't think I want this exhaust without cats, it would be too loud. I want one Saleen a little bit quieter. I already have one thats obnoxious!!

So does anybody you know up here have the SLP'S with their resonators instead of the mufflers?

Loudmouth 1's are what I have and they are the resonators. Wide open with no packing. LM2's are the same thing with some fiberglass packing in the case and the Powerflow's (I think?) are the regular mufflers.

Thanks Dave,
Your setup should sound like mine if I leave the cats. Next time I'm down there I would like to hear your's and see what they are like.
