Exhaust sounds

I keep hearing about exhausts exhibiting droning or trumpeting. Can anyone point me in the direction of any sound/video clips that demonstrate these?
I am a real noob so I don't know what sound is being referred to.

I will be adding FRPP Stingers and an X-Pipe soon and I want to know what to expect or what problems I might come across.

Here is a video that show trumpeting. Listen to the 11-12 sec mark.

Here is one that demonstrates drone:
YouTube - 05 Mustang GT Mac Axle-Back drone from inside the car

Basically trumpeting is a blaring sound you hear during part throttle to wot. It usually happens around 2500 RPMS. Drone is a base like resonance inside the cabin usually when the car is under load like going up a hill and can also happen 1800-2000 for some axlebacks and little higher RPMs for other.

That's a big can of headache right there :p It's the design of the stingers combined with the design of rear muffled exhaust along with not enough sound dampening underneath the car and in certain parts inside :nonono: Just a mess...actually I think Grey Diesel did something to get rid of most of his, but I think it involved a lot of work on his part. You might ask him about it, I think he dynomatted(sound deadener) his trunk and footwells. Like gman said though an X-pipe will help reduce the drone. It seems like H-pipes go well with chambered mufflers(basically a stock setup) and the straight through(like the stingers) go well with X-pipes.
