Exhaust X pipe holding power of car back?

I bought an off road x pipe from ebay, it wasnt a brand name and had the O2 sensor provisions. But since I intstalled this pipe it seems like it's holding my car back or something, not the power i had before when the car had an H pipe on it, is this possible?? Car just doesnt seem right power wise, thought i'd see if anyone had any suggestions

What, if any, modifictions to your motor? May have decreased backpressure therefore decreasing power. What kind of mufflers/headers do you have on?

Thumper combo with E cam, BBK shorty headers, the x pipe with bassani cat back system

It very well may be just the difference it made in the exhaust note, a mental thing. It's happened to lots of folks. I seriously doubt it would have changed anything. I personally will stick w/ a good old fashioned H-pipe. Also I can't see where one H or X pipe, cheap compared to expensive and of equal size, would be different from a performance aspect. They're both pipes connected together, just one might last longer than the other.

Did you go from cats to offroad?

Yes, it's an off road pipe, i dont think it's the noise aspect, i did this pipe when i did my motor swap, i dunno, maybe just not gonna get the seat of the pants kick i expected from my swap, but i swear its like the noise is there the power isnt .........

Yeah, that'd be hard to tell since you did a motor swap at the same time.

No possible way the old engine was making more power tho, it was leaking water and had 150K on it, this is a complete fresh bottom end with 75K on it, gone completely thru and had the thumper combo put on it with Tmoss lower, the X pipe has to be part of the culprit! I wish i had kept my Mac prochamber H pipe so i could swap and see

I had the same problem but mostly a loss of low end and a bit of pickup up top.
