Experience with AFS wheels?

I'm thinking of buying a set of Cobra wheels with tires for my 94 Vert. AFS sells the complete set on EBay and seem to have decent prices, does anyone have any experience (good or bad) with these wheels/tires or AFS in general?

I can't comment on their tires (I purchased BFG Drag Radials), but their wheels are top notch. I ordered the 17x8 17x10.5 white powdercoat R's from them. Shipping takes a lil longer than normal, I think that they were shipped from Canada. Great customer support (they always answered the phone or called me right back to answer to my questions).

Yea i have Some White Cobra R's from there they r great place only took me 4 days to get them and i love them. i lost 2 center caps int he first 3 weeks and they sent me a 4 new ones had them by the next day.

I bought mine - wheels and tires - off ebay. Saved a bunch. The ONLY problems I've had is the centercaps. One kept falling out.... they sent replacements no questions asked. The ended up wanting the wheel back as they throught it was CNCed wrong in the center.

I talked them into selling me two more wheels at cost. Now I have 6 black bullitts. Two with DRs mounted on them.

I used some Plumbers Goop and the center cap is fine now. I had another one start turning in the wheel a year after I bought them. I gooped that one too and it's fine.

The Essenza tires they sell are AWESOME! Best tires I've owned. I hadn't ever heard of them, so figured they were cheap crap, but they were cheaper than buying local and having them mounted. So I took a chance.

The tires hook up better than my Nitto Drags... They are definately summer tires, they like the heat. Get hard in the winter, but the tread life is great. I burn the snot out of mine, and they wear great.

I've got a set of AFS Cobra chrome 17x8's & 17x10.5's on my 'Stang. These rims are great! Here's a closeup of one of the rims (a little dirty, but they still look sweet):

I can definitely attest to the strength of their chroming process. I have Kumho Ecsta MX tires all around, but Kumho doesn't make a 315/35ZR17 tire. The 275/40ZR17 will fit, but the sidewall is angled inward. My rim is the first thing that will hit the curb now. I've now nailed the curb twice with the back rims.

The first time was a scrape, not two weeks after putting the rims on. I figured I took off a bunch of chrome, but I could barely see the scratch. A bit of buffing and chrome polish, and I can barely see the scratch.

The second was much worse. I took a corner a bit too tight, and nailed the curb HARD. Hard enough to roll the car up the curb. I figured that was the end of the chroime, but not so. After cleaning off the concrete powder, I had two very tiny chips in the rim. That's it. The curb was MUCH worse for wear - I shaved about a 1/4" of the corner off! AFS wheels 1, Curb 0.

It helps that I live within driving distance to their facility - saved me the shipping cost, but lost some savings due to tax.

The rims're definitely worth the cost. I've hit several potholes really hard, but the tires haven't leaked one bit. AFS makes quality stuff.

AFS wheels are good quality, as everyone has said.

However I would NOT buy their Cobra R's because they look VERY different from the real ones, and not in a good way either

Not to pick on PickardRacing, but here is his car with actual FRPP Cobra R's in front and crappy looking AFS out back
