Explain firewall adjusters to me

I always read about them but I am not to sure on how they work, or how to install one. My clutch doesn't engage until the pedal hits the floor and is hard to push the pedal down. My brother had an 03 GT that the pedal was easy to push and engaged earlier. Would a quadrant and adjuster help me? How would I install one?

the stock clutch adjuster is self adjusting. it uses teeth to click the adjusting automatically. With a firewall adjuster and quadrant you can adjust the clutch to catch where ever you want.

I did the self adjusting stock trick to make the pedal feel more aggressive....but still the pedal has a inconsistent feel with stock quadrant. Its self adjusts a weird times.

I have the Fiore Quadrant, Micro Click adjuster and LCD Clutch freeplay mod and i love the endless adjustment and very constant feel
