I have a 1984 mustang gt with a carbureted 5.0. I would just like to know, am i going to have any problems putting the gt40 heads of an explorer on a 302 without fuel injection? If it is possible what all would i need?

The heads should be a direct swap, head gaskets and intake gaskets.

Depending on if they're the GT40P heads, you might need either some different headers, or 90° plug boots. Typically you can get away with using regular headers with the P heads though.

If it is an 84 I am going to assume you have flat top pistons in which case, gt40 heads will not work. If you already have them check PTV clearance first with the cam you have. But it is most likely that they will not work.

I don't believe the 84 had flat tops.

Yep. They'd bolt on like they came from the factory that way.
