Does anyone know for certain what size bolts are needed to mount the Explorer upper to the GT-40 (Explorer) lower? Are these the same bolts that mount the OEM 5.0 HO upper to lower intakes? I did a search and got zip...my search skills STANK!!

Will the FRPP M-6002-A50 kit work? At Summit they say for 94/95 use only when mounting the GT-40, which I thought was very similar to the Explorer in dimension, but they go on to say the kit was very specific as to application.

same bolts yes, but I believe you need 4 of the long ones 6" long and 2 short ones that are 2" long. I can't remember for sure but I know the threads are the same. I got the other bolts at Napa, they have a whole assortment of bolts that are grade 8 as well. I can't tell you how many times I tried to find bolts at hardware stores and it was a pita.

Just ran out to my car to check for sure. For the gt-40 tubular intake I believe they require 4 of the smaller bolts and two longer ones like in that kit you mentioned above, but the explorer intake uses the four long and two short. So if you are interested in new bolts I'd try somewhere local for sure, definitely cheaper than the $10 handling fee from summit anyways, just my $.02

Thanks and thanks! As long as the bolts are available one way or the other. For some reason I thought the long ones were a proprietary length - been there and done that with other things.

yes i do, i like it. it has a more "muscley" look to it than the stock intake, especially the upper.

Enjoy!

Definitely agree, very nice. Everything I've done to my car I've feltl every little difference. Very little low end loss, but can feel the difference under wot and it also made the exhaust more hollow sounding if that makes any sense, then again I do have "dronemasters"

I was told it was out of a "Volvo 380 Twin Turbo" I think they meant S80. Anyway, it was recalled for the relays mounted on the fan, but they were replacing whole assemblies, and this guy (he was a tech i guess, idk) was selling just the fan and shroud on ebay.
