Since im getting a new engine, i figure i should also change the outside a little. Right now heres what im thinking:
1) 3 inch cowl from Dallas Mustang
2) 5.0 Badges. Its the 5.0 over the "v". My stock ones used to have 289 over the V.
3) Side Stripes. What do you guys think? C Stripes? or just the GT rocker valance stripes?
The car is Tropical Turquoise. I was thinking of possibly either doing white C stripes, or the white rocker stripes. Any opinions? Do you guys think it would look good?
4) Grill delete/black out. I want that look where it looks like there is almost no grill. The grill is blacked out almost, and has tight "honeycombes" i guess their called? Anyone have any info or links to a grill like this? Photos of your own grills?
Let me know what you think.
Mike
p.s photos of the car is on my car domain site, along with the the other mustangs.

I've always liked the GT rocker stripes over the C stripes. Also no rocker trim (I'd like to get rid of mine but I'm afraid to look underneath - previous owner pop riveted them on... )

Except for the front and rear which used screws that go through the 1/4 panels, the rest of the retainting clips are riveted on. This is the way they came from factory/dealers.

The front and rear (where the screws are supposed to go) are where the pop rivets are.

Sorry...didn't mean to hijack your thread.

IMO GT sides stripes look better on the 65-66 and C- stripes on 67-68. i would consider some off white gt stripes and possibly shelby racing stripes almost like a pearl white matching the tones to the interior and main color of tropical turquise. if the car is to be repainted i would see about adding some real small metal flake into the paint. and top it off with a deep clear coat. i also like your idea with the grill. i did this with mine. what i think would look good since you are retaining some of the chrome mainly the front bumper is a billet steel horizontal chrome grill insert. oh and i'd ditch the tiny wheels in favor of some modern 17"s with sticky Z's . these are just my ideas maybe you like some of them maybe not. but for the record your car looks pretty good as is.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I already have bogarts on the back. They are only 15's i believe, but i have big tall and wide tires on the back. Makes it have that dragster kind of look from the side. I like the idea of the off white GT rocker panel stripes, with the off-White racing stripes down the middle. The interior is white, with a torquise carpet. I had the seats reappolstered with the pony interior.
BLue Monster: do you have any pics of the grill? where did you get it from?

I really like that look. Im thinking i might want a black grill with just the vertical poney w. stripes on one side.
How easy is it to swap out the grill? either for a all black one or a billet piece?
It cant be that hard..
Wheres the best place to get the GT stripes?
