Looking for opinions on using an f cam for my h/c/i set up. I'm piecing everything together right now but so far I have the following (not on the car yet though):

Twisted Wedge Heads w/upgraded springs
GT 40 Tubular intake
Trickflow 1.6 rr's
FRPP 24lbs injectors
Granatelli Mass Air

The car is also a 5speed with 4.10s. I'm looking at going with an F303 cam. The heads don't have anywork on them and the intake is just port matched to I believe a 1250 gasket. The car is a daily driver. I want the most out of my car even though it is a daily driver while still keeping it somewhat streetable. Will this cam match up good with the heads and intake? What type of power will I be looking at? Thanks.

The f cam is a wierd one it seems to work very well with power adder cars and so so with n/a cars I would look more into the E303 or the TFS 1 for a daily driver car. The car will still make good power with these smaller camshafts and woukd be a little more docile idled. I see no reason it would not make 300 rwhp or darn near it

The F-Cam will be not be a good cam for a daily driver. It is designed for more topend or more air (forced induction). That intake is designed more for 1500-5000 rpm. The f cam is designed more for 2500 - 6000 rpm. Trust me, I'm running a similar setup and its fun for top end but not a good low end torque daily driver.

I would go with a cheaper Trickflow Stage 1 cam, and advance it 2-4 degrees.

Im currently running a stock bottom end with F303 cam, Patriot aluminum heads, 1.6 rr, Victor Jr intake, and a Holly 750 DP, a 5 speed and a 4.10 gear in a 1990 GT hatchback. The car has no heat, a/c (everything stripped), no power steering, Lakewood and eibach suspension. It hooks hard and just keeps on pulling, the lack of bottom end torque combined with a 4.10 equals out for the lack of low end with the F303. It is certainly stronger at 3,000 and up, which is good. If you think about it the car roller 5.0 doesnt really build great power or peak untill after 4,000. Adding more umph where the power band is the greatest is usually best. However Im not sure Im a fan of the 4.10 it seems a little low. I plan on dyno tuning my car, finishing the rest of the interior to get it to running weight then seeing what the gear feels like. I have friends that have 347's, supercharged 306's, 408's and even a fire breathing 418. All of them are amazed how well this car runs set up the way it is. Im also assuming your running FI where as Im running a carb, which if this is the case plan on spending some loot on a good tune.
