The factory 6 disc cd player on my 03 is jammed up. Can't get any cd's to eject or play, it says cd error and the cd door is stuck shut so I can't dig around and motivate one of the cds to move.

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks
Josh

I know it sounds barbaric but...hit it. Use the soft-side of your fist and give it a couple of firm whacks. Not hard enough to crack the plastic of course... You can try the same technique on the side of the console beside the headunit if you're worried about bustin' something.

Always worked for me, so far at least.

Don't hit it! Just pry the door open and stick a cd and move it around. If all else fails open it up.

I would try sticking another cd in to coax the others out before you open it up. You might also be able to bend a paper clip to slide in and hook the hole in the middle of the cd. You won't scratch it because you're on the label side instead of the read-side.

Also try doing it when its cold, around morning time... I know that sounds funny but it usually works for me

I'm having no luck. Before, every so often when it would jam i could eventually free up one of the cds but not this time. I guess I'll see what it does in the morning.

Does anybody know if i pull the cd player if I'll be able to open it up to get to the cds? And how much is a new unit from ford

Thanks
Josh
