Failing PIP code????

if the PIP was going out would it throw a code?

Not always, but you can run the KOEO (Key On Engine Off) and KOER (Key On Engine Running) tests and you should get code 14 (I believe) if the PIP is failing. If you don't know, the KOEO and KOER tests are built-in to the Ford computer; you can get a cheap code reader from most car parts stores that will run these tests for you.

When my dizzy died, i didn't get any codes. i'm not saying you won't, just that i didn't. mine just started misfiring and then it quite. sometimes it would refire, sometimes it wouldn't.

when i scanned mine it threw 2 MAF sensor codes but it had really close symptoms to a PIP failure how it would missfire and die and sometimes drive fine my car isnt running due to an engine swap right now but it could be done today i replaced the MAF sensor and if that dont fix the problem then ill replace the PIP i guess.

MAF too high and MAF to low
