maaco did it. they had it for almost 5 months. the owner took care of it like is was his own.

there are a few spots where there is a little dust in the clear coat. they said i could bring it back and they'd take care of it by wet-sanding with 1500 grit and then buf

i don't like the bumpers ... i very much prefer the chrome ones. but they threw them in for an extra $100, and i can't afford to get them chromed right now, and i don't want to wait 2 months to have it done. maybe over the winter i can send them out.

i am currently working on making the list of things i need from dearborn classics ... seat covers, other trim, carpet, weather stripping, ...

Can you have them scuff and repaint the bumpers in silver. Dupont's 713-A is a very good looking silver for bumpers. It will look good, until you can get them rechromed.

If not them, you can get "wheel silver" in an aerosol from the parts store. Duplicolor makes some, so it's good stuff. You'll have to scuff it with a ScotchBrite pad, to get it to stick. That is, if it's bugging you that badly.

Looks good, btw!

(Hint-Leave the 390 in it. )

it has some torque, but it is not very fast. the 390 is all stock and i'm sure it doesn't breathe very well. and the exhaust is very restrictive ... i can barely hear it while driving around. the gas pedal also feels like it is out of adjustment, as in it sort of feels like the throttle may not be 100% open when the pedal is on the floor.

it weighs about 3700 lbs.

but it spins the back wheels easily enough when i mat the pedal from a stop.

the stang is my fast car. this one's a cruiser.

i am leaning toward leaving the 390 in it. but i haven't completely decided if i am going to leave it 100% stock. if i end up selling the stang, i may free up the exhaust and put a better carb and heads on it. and i'll need a radio with a CD player.

Sounds exactly like what my 2 stangs are to me. the 95 is the "fast" one and the 68 is the cruiser. I'd like to make the 68 fast, but for now it'll just have to look and sound good. Besides, people dont know it's slow
