You can ALWAYS tell when someone is trying to copy because something isn't quite right. The bumper doesn't match, or the exhaust wasn't redone, ect ect.

Besides, I'd rather have the plain and clean appearance, yet be able to knock off the cobras and vettes'.

So it's ok to have the body parts just as long as no emblems right? just curious...

I have the hood, front bumper, and shaved rear cover...I wouln't give a damn if 500 different forums flamed me for it...I love how it looks, but I don't hide the fact it's a blown GT either.

I get asked all the time in parking lots if my car is a sixer, since I debadged the trunklid and am running dumps. I always point to my license plate Once I start it up, it typically removes all doubt.

At a dealership in Perrysburg, OH I saw a GORGEOUS 2000 Cobra R. I went up to it and checked it out, and it had EVERYTHING right about the body. I mean everything. Then I read the sticker and noticed it was a 2003 with a 3.9l. I would seriously consider driving it as a beautiful daily driver if I wasn't worried about being chastisized by the purists.

I run the 99-01 cobra front stuff on my gt........i would never ever, ever, put cobra emblems, hood or rear bumper on my car. i just absolutely love that style. I almost traded my vert for a "highly modded" 99 snake......i drove it......and listened to the deal they were willing to give me....wasn't bad at all....but when i got back in my car and drove away.......it wasn't gonna happen. i get asked if its a cobra all the time, cause it does sound kinda like a 4v to the untrained ear, but i immedately make it known that its a modded GT. but besides that, there's this kid that lives in my town. he went out and bought a S197 6cyl and stuck snakes on the fenders. i don't know where he got the badges.....but they are huge and stupid looking. On top of that he went around telling ppl it was a cobra and some belived him. how sad is that? me and 2 of my buddies got a lil too aggrivated one nite and confronted him.....he started trying to explain himself out of the situation which made him look even dumber, then parked the car in his back yard and i haven't seen it move sence.

I just like to pull up next to the posers and stare at them until they look back and give 'em a little Stang "whats up" and they usually just look away ashamed that thier buzzin' half dozen is an imposter.

Bodyparts mean nothing, a fobra can only be called a fobra if it is badged or it says cobra on it somewhere. My car has a 01 cobra front bumper and a filled 04 cobra rear bumper. I put them on because the 99-01 cobra front have the biggest hole for an intercooler to get air and the 04 cobra rear is lower and helps hide my sumped fuel tank better.

did you do this yourself? I thought I saw a place that was selling them already filled but i cant find the vendor. any info would be great.

In order to break up the color I thought about getting the windshield "Mustang" in black lettering and putting it on the back so that it would appear more like the GT rear cover...not sure how it would look though, but for the $10 the windshield letters cost i figured it would be worth a shot.

This is how stories get started. Someone in their 1992 "bubble" CRX or Cobalt will start bragging how they beat a Cobra.

Me and my buddy filled it in. The bumper came off of an 04 cobra.
Black mustang stickers on the bumper would look cheap and out of place.

LOL - great stuff...I'd love to see this happen.

For me, it's pretty easy to tell the difference between the sound of a 2V and a 4V - it's pretty distinct. And of course the 03-04 4V Cobra is REAL easy to identify...

The quote I always used to hear was

"For $3000 I could be as fast as you."

Heard that all the time.

I know we are all gear heads at heart but it really annoys me when six bangers try to talk up thier cars like they are defending it. I mean the least they can do is be proud of thier cars and be honest to themselves.^That quote is funny, and by the time they get the 3 grand I'll have the same into my car then they're back at square one.
