Hey everyone,
I have a quick question related to the Flex Fan on my 1968 Mustang. I have a 1968 Mustang, 289 w/air. I was having issues with it heating up, so I decided to just replace the hoses and add a fan shroud for starters. What I thought would be a 30 minute job, turned into the job from hell.
The first issue came with the fan shroud....It doesn't seem to fit, so I need to modify it. Beyond that it looks like i only have about 1/4" or possibly 1/8" of clearance between the fan and the bottom radiator hose. Is this typical. I checked to make sure the radiator was not raised up or anything. I find it hard to believe that it left the factory with that small of a gap; then again, maybe it did.
I was going to pick up a 16" Flex fan to solve the problem, but I figured I would ping the community here to see if the small gap is acceptable...
Thanks....Mike
