I guess it would help to cool down the radiator after you shut off your car to help get some of the heat out of there, but I dont see what the deal exactly with doing it is, I mean If it needed it I think ford would put that on there somehow and its been fine/I havent noticed any problems/concerns with it for 12 years?
I'm sure there is a way to wire it up on a toggle switch and keep it where the computer controls it. Would the fan run if you had the AC and switch on with the engine off? I've never tried it.
Ok......When I turned of my car, I was about 190*, went to the store about 30 minutes to an hour. Got back in started it and it was at 210. So I wired up the low fan to a switch. Made it work, now I did the same thing. turned the car of at 190 left it alone but now with the switch on. This time it was around 18o-185. So It does have a good affect. I hooked it up with a fuse that way it could pop it if it gets to hot or something goes wrong with the wiring
