Fox Faze aftermarket tac hookup

I was given this 5inch faze tac with shift light. It has 3 wires, red,black and green. I have power and ground but can not pick up tac signal. I went to negative (both)sides of cool, even tried off wire on distributor harness and nothing. I do have factory tax in cluster. How do I get aftermarket one going?

It's really really just that simple. Red to power, black to ground and green to negative wire on coil.

If it doesn't work, you either don't have a good connection or the tach is Fubar

It's possible the tac is FUBAR,I'm thinking of getting this one. What you think ? Never heard of it though
