Fender Replacement

It's a pretty straight forward proposition. The biggest "gotchas" are:

1) The little screws that attach the plastic inside fender wells
2) The hidden screws up in the polyurethane attachment points for the front bumper (sometimes rather corroded, and quite well hidden)
3) The vacuum lines and vauum reservoir cannister (plastic) that attaches inside the fender
4) The possibility of dinging the front edge of your door with an extension as you try to access the bolts through the door jamb opening
5) The often corroded bolt that attaches the bottom rear portion of the fender to the rocker panel (under the door hinges)

It's not particularly daunting, just don't become impatient and accidentally damage one of your attachment points, or a carriage bolt receiver while working through your project.

Good luck,

BT

You can do it with the wheel on, but it's much easier with it off. You can then access the screws holding the inner fenderwell splash shields much more easily, and you're not as cramped when reaching up inside of the front of the fender where it attaches to the bumper cover to remove the nuts there.

I usually just hold the door about halfway open with my leg and run the ratchet extension while standing in of the door. I never had a problem, but cant be too safe. Everything else said was right on par though.

If you bolts arent too badly rusted, it should take 20 mins on the car is setup (alot of the time is in the nuts holding the nose to the fender, but if those arent bad your set. I use a flathead ratchet for most of those and its a breeze. The first time is the hardest with a fender, should oyu ever have to do it again its a breeze.
