Ok I was looking at my stock air intake and noticed that it seems to be getting air from the fenderwell. so here is my question if the stock air intake is sucking air from the fenderwell how does a aftermarket cold air intake add 10-15 hp? thanks for the help

Don't think a CAI will give you that much HP. Mac CAI setup has the whole filter in the fenderwell unlike the stock intake that uses the air sliencer to suck in air throw its small opening. The air in the fenderwell is much cooler, but the chrome intake will be alot hotter then the stock palstic intake.

it won't add 10-15hp. But it will add 10-15 imaginary hp. Don't get anything that's fender mount unless there's a modified MAF that comes with the kit. Stock MAf units do not like 90degree bends before going through the sensor. Thus screwing up your a/f ratio..

Anytime you can get cooler air it is better whether it is with the fenderwell CAI's or forcing cooler air into the intake. I have one but I put the stock "accordain" intake piece back in since the one that Mac has gets too freakin' hot. I also still have the screen taht is inbetween the fenderwell piece and the MAF so as yo not screw with the A/F ratio. Also there is the Darkwolf mod for the fenderwell CAI. You can rotate the MAF 90 degrees toward the fender to compansate for the bend in the intake.
