I have searched the threads but can't find the answer I am searching for. I see the prices between BBK's fenderwell cold air and March's ram air are about the same. I am wondering what will give the better performance though. I've heard both good and bad about the ram air. Anyone have any experiences that may help choose the better of the two?

my friend back home bought the march then got rid of it - it kept scooping up all kinds of crap and debris. he was cleaning his filter constantly.

Stock box is the best and cheapest CAI with the silencer and a K&N filter for any 302 N/A set up, but the fender mount kits look much better in place. The ram air kits are known to pick up debris and water with very little if any power assistance...though I have heard at higher speeds there may infact be some "ram" effect, but only at higher speeds, and the increase was mediocre. The inlet is not a bottle neck as many think it is, but infact the TB and the heads are the real inhibiting items when looking at upgrading performance.

I don't get to drive the car much, other than work and back which is about a mile and a half down the road. But here in Hawaii it rains about everyday. I was thinking about not using the scoop at all and running the hose into the fog light inlet. I figured that would eliminate some of the big stuff from the road. I am not hearing much good on power gains though from ram air unless at 80mph plus. Sounds like a lot of hype for something that is a pain more than anything.

Yeah, just get rid of the silencer on the stock airbox and use a K&N filter. I got a custom fenderwell CAI off of eBay and it is alright, but I would never suggest anyone spend the money on the other kits as you are just paying for the name and the hype.

like others have said, just buy a k&n filter for the stock box (about 40 bux) and remove your air silencer (free) and you will gain just as much hp as any of those expensive kits

Definately sounds like ram air is nothing but trouble.
