so decision is made, im 100% im going carb'd. anyways, selling the harness to a fellow member. question is, will my gauges still work, i plan on going aftermarket oil press/water temp gauges later, but for now will they work. arent there 2 harnesses, one for engine (maf, etc) and the other electrical (gauges, lights, etc)??? also, I know I need a different distributor/coil... a non-tfi right? also, i know i can use a stock efi fuel pump as long as i use a inline regulator to turn the psi down to say 3-5psi instead of ~40psi? But who makes one? and where can i get it? and how much bigger of fuel lines do i need? I would like t go braided steel, but thats $$$.. if not, what size? and where can i get them from? also, 1 more question, what about the throttle cable? is there some sort of bracket i can bolt it to and where can i get it from? also, 1 more question, what about the throttle cable? is there some sort of bracket i can bolt it to and where can i get it from?

You won't need bigger fuel lines until you start pushing over 300HP. I just got an inline Holley fuel pump used for $40 CAD (around 28 bucks for you USA folks). I removed the stock pump and replaced it with a pickup tube, right into the rubber hose that was over the in-tank pump. I used the bigger stock "feed" line and removed the smaller "return" line. All you need is 6psi.

I "think" the guage wires come from the computer harness but I'm not sure, I took the car apart last year and can't seem to remember. But you may be right, the harness from the driver side has all the oil and temp guage wires??? I just went ahead and got the guages right away. BTW volts still works with all the wires pulled out from under the hood lol

I got a throttle cable and bracket from a 1985 3.8L V6 Cougar. I machined the bracket and made my own support for it to work with the damn air gap intake which seats the carb pretty high. You can just buy a bracket that will bolt the carb studs and be done with it but it was pretty expensive IMO.

I guess you know about the distributer and ignition upgrades that need to be done?

if you are going to use the stock efi pump and an inline fuel regulator, DO NOT get just a regular "dead head" regulator. get one that has a return port on it. otherwise, you are cutting 40 psi down to 6 and your pump and regulator may be damaged. if i was you i would do the HEI ignition swap. it is easy and you don't have a big module to put under the hood, like duraspark. i have the info so i can send it to you.
