I just bought some 1.7 frpp pedestal roller rockers and a b cam for my car at a swap meet. I have a few quick questions about installing these in my car.

1. With the roller rockers do i NEED hardened pushrods and guids or no?

2. Am i going to have any piston to valve clearence problems with the b-cam and the 1.7's? Im trying to do this swap with the heads on. i am going to throw some new valve springs on it cause im sure the stockers are shot but i was going to use the compressed air in the cylinder method. Anyone running that combo with stock lower end without problems?

3. Is there any roller cam break in procedure like there is for flat tappet or no? Do i use oil or assembly lube on the cam when i install?

I know the b-cam isnt all that great but i got a real good deal on it and i am in the process of gathering pieces for my 408 buildup for the same car and i just wanted somthing a little different for the summer so i figured id put it in just for the experience. thanks

No break-in. Get some cam lube for the install.

B and 1.7s should be fine.

No guides or new push rods needed.

You really wont see any gain from using the 1.7s with the B cam. The cam has more than enough duration/lift on its own to work with stock heads (if thats what being used). You can cut down your work load with just a cam install.
