Alright, it seems I have to use a low profile fan with my new radiator. I am determined to make a custom shroud to cover the radiator. I mocked one up out of carboard and I am planning to use fiberglass to make a shroud. What shoudl i cover the carboard with so the resin won't stick to it? My only guess from reading websites is packing tape. Which I used to make the mold.

Yes I know stainless would be nice, I just do not have access to a metal bender or a TIG.

cardboard will work fine. you can use the packing tape but i suggest giving it a good coating of Pam cooking spray over the tape, the pam will keep the resin from sticking to anything so it will be easier to seperate from the mold.

I have bought plywood in VERY thin sheets from model building stores. Much stiffer than cardboard and can still be cut with good scissors. I use solid (rub on and polish) as well as liquid mold wax made for composite molds.
Why not use carbon fiber? In those quantities its not that much more than glass. Looks awesome! As soon as I'm done with my new gearbox, I'm making a monte carlo bar of carbon tubing. :D

I owuldnt use cardboard for a mold. Make it out of wood if you can, stretch some flees over it and apply the resin.

or just save some pennies and get this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cust...33602QQitemZ8066954496QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

I looked into this. IT is 3.5 in deep. with the new radiator I have 2 5/8 from radiator to water pump drive shaft. I even though about mounting a 14 in offset like that, however I could find any that flowed significant CFM. By my research I need min 600 CFM for every 100 horse (from old engineering book on generators). Vintage air suggests an extra 800 cfm for the condensor heat. thats about 2500 cfm I need.

Alrigth I figure I would atleast post some pics of the form. Yes I know its looks bad, but I had a friend look at it that does scale air planes and said it would work but will definetly be a pain. Here are some picsso far View attachment 468535

Yes tape job looks bad but thats towards the radiator. I am going to smooth out the visable side.
