fiberglass body parts

what should a new fiberglass body piece look like? i mean is it ok if there are some small imperfections to it or should it look perfect? what should i be looking for when i buy it and what should i avoiding? any help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

look for stress cracks in the paint where the fiberglass may have bent, look for cracks in the fiberglass and look at the mounting points.

Depends on what it is. My Steeda hood I had on my '03 was smooth as a baby's arse. However, cheaper fiberglass parts may have small imperfections that will need to be smoothed out before paint, etc. Some parts may even be wavy. For instance, Harwood products are notorious for being wavy especially if its a pin-on part.
