Im getting ready to order a new Cervini fiberglass hood (either Cobra R or 2.5" Cowl). I was just wondering if you are using your stock hood latch or hood pins? I'm guessing the fiberglass hoods are a lot more fragile and I just don't want to damage it. Are there any cracking problems with fiberglass hoods? Thanks.

I'm gonna second what ECU5.0 said, definitely go with hood pins. The stock hood latch has a tendency to let go, as is evidenced by the multitude of horror stories on this forum. It's much easier to just buy a $10 set of hood pins and install them than to risk the hood flying up when you're traveling at ~60mph.

Nothing at all wrong with a fibergalss hood, you use the same mounting hardware and latch.

if you want to avoid a huge pile of crap in your drivers seat get the pins. When your hood flies off at 80 on the HWY, You will crap yourself

Don't get the key locking type hood pins... Though it would be a really nice feature they are just to lock the hood... not secure it from flying up and smashing your windshield. They even say it on the package.
