there is a pro digital photography company that does photos every test and tune, the white '96 is me.

GET THIS there is a white GT350 sticker package '05 GT that I raced on my 1st pass, he's pictured here, best E.T. of 14.8@96 MPH, but it was his very 1st time at the strip, brand new car. he fried the tires horrible. it was the only '05 out there, everyone was like, those are slow. yea, he was a noobie, give him a break.

Take a guess at what this ran. This is my friend Sean's car, it's been our project for the last 6 months. here's the equipment:

Stock '96 3.8 shortblock, '99 Split port heads+bigger valve springs. Mild performance cam, SCT custom tuner, exhaust, ram air intake, 3.73's with a t-lok. 5-speed.

Best E.T. that night of 14.89@94.7 mph!!!

his goal was to kill stock GT's, i'd say he did it.

The jet cars were the best though.

5.80 or something at like 387MPH, wild stuff. The wind from the engines tore the hell out of a tree by the building behind them. was cool as hell.

Another thing to think about is having your car dyno'd. I don't really care for dyno numbers (I like track times better) but that may give you a better idea of your 'actual' horsepower at the wheels. Food for thought ...

Something else I was wondering, is/was the track prepped good? I know that can hurt times somewhat ...

And a 14.5 with an automatic is a hell of a lot faster than my ole' girl's automatic. I swear that thing would have run a mid/high 16 if taken to the track. My best friend had a 99 GT and he was running 14.2 - 14.5 bone stock and was destroying her automatic when I would race him.

Oh yeah, and with regards to a V6 being fast ... I got my doors torn off a few years back on the interstate by a V6 that had a turbo. It was insane, I chased the guy down to make sure I found out why I just got beat by a sixer. (they still sound horrible though)

Yes, i have had a lot of people here on stangnet say to have it dyno tuned. I know i need to get a tuner for the computer. I run 91 octane, but with the compression it still pings a little in extremely hot weather. I'm told I can gain at least .1 by tuning the computer. I'm still running stock '96 ECU no tune, no check engine light though. I'm told the PI cars had an agressive tune, and the '97 and '98's did too. So basically if i get the correct PI converter and get the computer tuned like a PI computer, i should be low 14's easy.

And my tranny is a 4r70w, the last year for the AODE was '95. But i am told the '99 and newer 4r70's a better.

oh, and on the track prep question. Yea, it's sticky as hell. I had absolutely no wheelspin. I stalled it as high as I could before it would start to spin, like 1900 i believe. no spin on takeoff at all. One thing I did notice with the PI swap, it has a LOT less low end torque. with the NPI motor, it would fry the tires from a dead stop. now it will spin very little, even on the street, it's all above 2500 RPM when it pulls like a mother.

that sounds extremely high, especially for your mods. my sis has a 98 GT auto with mufflers and a PI intake. she ran a best of a 14.8 @ 91 w/ a 2.2 60'. stil a lot of room for improvement in her car. im confused why your times are so high. youre kansas right? thats not too high an elevation

Trust me I understand people who say you must be running slow. I run at Brainerd in Minnesota and lots of people tell me how fast their car is and after they run it down the track once or twice they think that somethings wrong because they run 1/4 to 1/2 second slow. Then I get to laugh at them because I know the track and even though it's a great track the altitude is higher then they are used to and it always seems like it's 90 and sunny as hell when we are running. The temp will make at least a 0.2 change in my time if I can get a cool run in the morning.

I get a good laugh when I see people comparing times from different parts of the country...

it's impossible to compare times from different days without correction let alone different tracks in different parts of the country..

can someone figure out my specs?

best run i got so far on my auto with mods in sig are 14.098 @99.262 but my highest trap run was 14.118 @ 99.740.
