The first time I raced my buddies M3 my GTS was all stock and he would murder me! From a stop, roll you name it. That was a while ago and I told him give me some time and i'll kick your ass. So I did a few stupid mods like chip, pullies and exhaust, raced and same outcome. so he called me last night and told me he had a mustang fan with him and he wanted to show him how bad he kills the 5.0 slow. Little did he know I had done some modifications since we last raced and I told him I was up for it. So we met at some crap road and I knew I wasn't going to get traction. We go from a dig and once again his car pulls ahead by about two cars I was dissapointed and wondered about selling my car. We pull off the road and he says ( Back to the drawing board buddy and laughed with his friend ) So we were heading back home and I decided to screw around a little bit And i told him to race from a 20 roll and I pulled 3 cars on him. Maybe he missed a gear or was sleeping so we went again, and same outcome. So we went from a 50 roll 70 roll He was astonished and the mustang prevailed I told him maybe he should have spent 40 grand on a cobra

It might be a 14 second car but you have to remember that car was not made for drag racing his power is more up top and 185rwhp vs 255rwhp stock that car is a lot faster than alot of mustangs around here plus he has a dinan intake and other mods!!!! You might not think it is much to brag about but it gives me more respect for the potential of my car

one revved on me a while back, but i was having all kinds of vaccuum leak problems at the time, pinging like mad and the check engine light was on, so i turned him down.

this was in my 96 before i bought the 95.

he probably thought i was afraid of him. but i probably would have lost anyway because my car was (still is) mostly stock.

The new M3s will beat an LS1 if the driver is good enough, I had a first hand experience with this.

You say the M3 is not a drag racing car, yet he takes you outta the hole. The M3 is not a 255rwhp car stock. They only came with 240HP so whats that like 200rwhp stock. But either way he is a better driver than you. Work on your skills so you can take him off the line too.

Actually The M3 make 289 Hp to the Crank and my friends car is not stock I was comparing stock to stock stats. I had 373 gears put in the rear end and and I spin to the top of second with out my DRs.

Congrats on your victory. There are a lot of M3's and M5's out here (England) I was wondering how our cars would fair against them. I have a pretty good idea now.

Same Here

I raced an M3 before also 1999. All i had were 3.55s, offroad pipe, underdrives, 65throttle body and a k&n. I won 5 races in a row from a complete stop. Each win was about a half a car length.

a friend of mine has an 02 and he has taken me out in it a few times. the throttle response on it is great. fwiw, the 333 is at the flywheel, not the rear wheels. he would definately spank my 96, and i haven't gotten the 95 back from the shop yet, but his car feels much faster than I expect mine to be when I get it.
