Maybe your lower intake is leaking. I just figured that enough pressure would blow the seal into the coolant crossover.

Do you remember where you hg blew before???

When my hg blew it blew exhuast into the cloolant at a slow rate until I stepped on the gas then the overflow spewed coolant.

I hope it is something simple.

I don't see the logic there, but maybe Lido knows something I don't. Stock bolts are torque to yield. They are built to stretch, which increases the chance of lifting the head.

I don't think using aluminum heads is going to make that big of a difference. I think using the head studs will make a bigger difference.

It is the fact that they are torque to yield that is why he uses them. I'm not going to try to explain it because I don't want to say it wrong and have it not be what he said.

I can't remember where it blew before. The way you say yours acted seems dead on is comparison to what mine did. It didnt spew until he was on the dyno doing a pull in 4 gear.

some people would love to have a turbo. not me. i've had enough of boost related headaches

i had a KB 1700 for a while and had nothing but trouble with it. within six months of nothing but issues, it ended up breaking something internal (probably a ring) and was burning and leaking oil like crazy. later, i found out that a seal had given way and was letting unmetered air in.

that was when i decided to stay na and go big instead. now i have no worries about breaking anything or blowing a HG

but that's just me.

good luck with it and keep us posted

Yeah I hear ya, but I am quite confident my problems are lying elsewhere than something the turbo did to the car.

And yeah, Tom, I was wondering if a block can warp as well. I didn't think it could, but this happening over and over would make ya wonder.

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

The heads can warp though right? Have those been checked?

And on the stock vs. arp thing, i've talked to a few "pro's" in my short modding days and they all have their personal preference that makes u wonder. The thing i think is that when you are a professional at something, you know what to do to make x,y and z work best. Now being an amateur it may be best/easiest to just get some head studs since u dont know the trick of making stock work best. Unless you are saying lidio will tell a guy he met at the bar to go home and use stock head bolts, i can completely see him believing that. If its him on the motor, then yea i'd trust the bolts. If its me? LOL give me the the biggest, baddest, strongest option so i have room for failure.

Kinda like comparing Tiger Woods to an amateur golfer...the amatuer may use the very very top of the line equipment and get mediocre results. Yet Tiger gets out there with "regular" equipment and smashes the competition. Tiger is the pro...he knows the tricks to make stuff work.
