I now know why I hate the side scoops on the S197 so much. I like that they're not so crazy and tacky like the 99-04's but still something didn't sit right with me. Then I took a good look at Toyota's lineup. The hockey stick scoops on the Mustangs look a helluva lot like the little indentations that Toyota's thrown on everything they build. Just thought I'd share.

Ok maybe they are similar. But I am NOT going to look at that hideous matrix. It's kinda like toyota's answer to the aztec.

Now if you'd like me to look at another toyota. I might be able to accomodate you. But the matrix, echo, or the pontiac vibe (Little brother to the aztec) are just a little too ugly for me.

Nah, actually, I think all of Toyota's cars are ugly. The Camry and Corolla even manage to pull it off, despite their blandness. They all just seem out of proportion. The only one I actually like is the Tacoma.

Talk about nit picking, this has become insane.

I could take ANY vehicle sold today and find a specific design element that I hate.

Bottom line is that, taken as a whole, the styling of the 2005 is great!

Yeah, I'm a really nit-picky car fan. That's what drew me to Mustangs in the first place. I have trouble finding any fault in the design of the classics. The hockey scoops aren't enough to kill the look for me. I still don't like the car as a whole, but I guess they'll grow on me eventually. if not, I can just wait till the next redesign.

The new design 2005 is outdated even before it's out..
10 years down the road it will look like crap...

I don't know why they did it that way...

They should have followed Mazda (their company) and be innovative like they did with the Mazda 3. This car looks incredible for it's price...

Sorry i had to respond to this one, i just drove race preped mazda 3's for a road course race setup in philly (total of 15 cities) by mazda. The mazda 3, come on, that thing is a dog, and yeah it looks ok for a sport compact (plain as can be, garanteed not to get pulled over even if your speeding because it looks so slow), but what the hell, the new mustang is sweet, yeah i like the concept better, but you know its sweet when you chevy lovin friends say damn thats awesome, and why the hell did chevy mess up the vette, look at all that black and charcoal plastic all over it. Thats how i know the new GT is sweet, plus i have eyes of my own, hello whats wrong with that guy.

Retro has no staying power???? Why do I see more PT cruisers then anything else on the road? They seem to still be going strong.

Not to mention, the 60's stangs still look good a lot more then 10 years down the road. That was just a stupid statement.
