Finally got my subframes on - very happy

My coupe has always been tight and has never been driven really hard, and I figured putting subframes in would be good long-term "insurance" against fatigue but that since I drive mostly my daily highway commute I wouldn't feel much of a difference. Well, I was wrong . . . from the time I drove it out of the shop, I could feel that it was much more stable over bumps at low speeds. It also used to pitch and wallow a bit when hitting uneven pavement at highway speeds (especially since I put on my BFGs), but now it tracks straight and true. It feels like I installed a lot more than a $100 pair of metal rails.

(by the way if you live in Central PA, CJ Pony Parts does a nice install of these - I got the Kenny Brown full-lengths)

Our the KB's powdercoated or just plain steel, also I assume you got weld ins? By the way I live in State College, about 2 hrs from you.

I got the ones that have sort of a goldish-anodized look to them (some kind of rustproofing but I don't think it qualifies as powdercoated). Yes, I did get weld-ins.

My wife graduated from Penn State in 1996, so I have been back to State College with her. It's a nice drive up that way . . . although we took her car last time we went!

hey where are you guys ordering your subframe connectors? How hard are they to install (weld or bolt?) and if weld about how much for installation?

I bought mine at CJ Pony Parts (KB weld-in $99.95). They installed for 2 hours' labor ($55/hour) which might be a bit pricey compared with some other places but they did a perfect job, and I had a Christmas gift card from my awesome in-laws that I had to use there, so no biggie. They are local to where I am so I didn't have to worry about shipping costs. I highly recommend them if you have to get any installation work done and you are within driving distance.

I wouldn't go bolt-on - read the Stangnet reviews of people who had bolt-ons stock from the factory (mostly 'verts) and how much of a difference weld-in makes. I also noticed that although the Bullitt comes stock with factory subframes, some people who are not concerned about originality are ripping them out and installing weld-ons.
