After much debate and and research, I have finally placed the order for the Whipple HO Intercooled kit. I have a felling it will be putting out some serious power so I thought now is the right time to upgrade the suspension components as well.

Suspension will include the following:

Saleen Suspension Pack - Springs, Shocks Struts, Front Sway Bar
BMR Suspension - Adjustable UCA, LCA's, Rear Sway, Panhard Bar

All of the products are coming from Brian at Texas Hot Rods. I'm having it all shipped to my local speed shop for the install. Looking at 5-10 days for all the pieces to get there.

From there it is going to my local body shop for the paint, stripe and install of the GT500 Spoiler and Agent 47 Mirrors.

I will post pics and Videos of the Dyno and finished product. Thanks for the opinions and advice from those on this forum!

You're really going to dig the Whipple. The BMR suspension goodies will bring on some noise, but you can cure that. Remove the seats, carpet, and trunk liner and lay Dynamat all over the sheet metal. You can find some killer deals on Dynamat and similar brands on ebay. The stuff really makes a big difference.

Awesome! Just realized the Apex in your name comes from the town. My parents just moved to Cary about 8 months ago, so I go down there quite a bit (I'm even considering making the move). You'll have to let me know if there are any Mustang events down there so I can check out the car!

Cary and Apex are both great areas to live bro. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio and my family moved here when I was only in the 6th grade. Well, I'm 31 years old now and have lived in the Cary Apex area for roughly 20 years. It's a great place to raise a family and a great place to work. Plenty of jobs, decent housing prices (although they are on the rise), and you can't beat the location within the state. The beach is 2.5 hours away and the mountains are about 3 hours away.

As for Mustangs, yes they have events. There is the Heart of Carolina Mustang Club and they sponsor some cool events. In Garner, NC they have a cruise in during the summer that attracts a TON of cars, Mustangs included. They have a cruise in typically 1 Saturday per month from something like April to October.

A good site to visit that is popular amongst the locals is HPJ, Horsepowerjunkies.com

Maybe we'll see you around.

You'll like the suspension setup
I'm thinking on a supercharger too , but I've not yet decided which one

Post your impressions as soon as you drive your "new" ride .

No lie. I don't like paycheck to paycheck, but I can't see how everyone affords s/cer or turbo kits. It's a huge chunk of change.

No kids + excellent living situation + accepting and loving gf of an overly expensive habit (Mustang addicted) + great credit + financing = a small piece of the pie.

The other much larger piece is the accepting that you'll be limited in what you can do or other larger purchases you can make for the next few years...at least thats my deal.

No kids(1 on the way ) and a wife that doesnt ask many questions, AND i WORK MY AZZ off to get what I have, no silver spoon here..!! You will love the supercharger!! I only have a little ol Vortech, and a modded/tuned STI was a little surprised he got beat from a 40 and a 60 mph roll..And a GTO w/ exaust got horribly embarrased.. ..Im sure you already know, but a good custom dyno tune is worth gold!! Good luck, the combo sounds sweet, go munch on some F-bodies!!!

I have no kids... and nothing other then the car payment and morgage. I guess if I wanted to live without other things I wanted for the next couple YEARS... I could get a s/cer or turbo kit... But there's no way in hell I'm giving up the way I live to have forced induction. That's just

Those that are supercharged, what exhaust setup are you running from the manifolds back? Or let me know if you have LT's as well.

Magnapack catback, thats it for now..Love the sound though...Eventually I will do LT's, probably JBA's, and a catted X-pipe side exit. I had that on my 99 Roush and loved the sound..

Stock manifolds, FRPP X-Pipe w/stock cats, FRPP axel back.

Give it about 6 months and thats going to change from end-to-end (thinking all MAC), but for now I like it.

Dynatech 1 3/4 inch primary pipe to a 3 inch collector long tubes, catted x-pipe (but I have since hollowed out the cats since one started coming apart). Currently I have JBA mufflers but was thinking of changing to the magnaflow magnapacks.

I would be interested in knowing how you decided upon the Whipple vs. the other SC options as my SC fund is growing steadily and I should be ready to buy this summer.

Thanks,

I have kicked around the idea of supercharging for the past few weeks and it could be in my future within the next year.

But I was wondering if any of you guys got extra insurance to cover the supercharger? I mean some of you are paying $5-7 K for your superchargers, another $1.5 K to install, not to mention $400 - $500 for gauges, and another $500 for a custome tune. Thats a LOT of money.

Your looking at around $8000 in a lot of cases plus the money tied up in other areas of the car. It would really suck to have a wreck and get the car totalled with all the equipment damaged including the supercharger.

What do you guys think about that, do any of you have any insurance on your mods? I don't even know if you could get insurance on that kind of stuff but if you could I'm sure it would be worth it.
