Finally, I got around to installing my power windows and power door locks. The power windows were simple and work great the power door locks were a PITA and still need a litte adjustment.

Out with the old window regulator, in with the new. The new electric regulator just bolted right in. The install was very easy and the windows work great.

The hardest part was the wiring. Also, now that I don't need a window crank, I'm mounting a tweeter, for my component speakers, in the hole in my door panel.

Once I get the door locks properly adjusted, I need to tie them into my alarm for keyless entry / alarm.

I mounted the switches in my console. They're tied into the gauge lighting circuit, so when I turn the lights on they illuminate.

I'm so jealous! Your car is coming along nicely.

Where did you source the parts from?

which kit did you order for the keyless entry, the one with just power locks or the 4 button kit for the alarm and power locks? Is it easy to install and if you get the alarm/ lock set do you have to buy anything extra or is it all in the kit? Worth it??

What kind of issues are you having installing the power door locks? Are they not aligning with the rods that lock and unlock? Just curious, since I plan to install power door locks in the near future as well.

65straightsick - I already have a Viper Alarm system, so I'm just tying my power door locks into the Alarm relay. When I activate the alarm, the doors will lock; when I deactiveate the alarm, the doors will unlock.

csxfbird - Originally I tried to install the actuators with the supplied rods, per the directions. The problem was mainly trying to work inside of the door, I just couldn't find the room to tighten the clamp on the rods. It was driving me nuts!

Eventually, I went with gp001's advice in this thread - http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=464237 - It was much easier to get everything tightened and aligned.

Hope that helps, good luck,
Tim

Well i was decided that I would just do power locks and not use the PW kit. But seeing your setup has made me think twice. Good work.

The power windows were much easier then the power door locks. Less wire to run, easier installation and the speaker tweeter in the hole left by the window crank is pretty trick. The hardest part of the power window installation was getting the old regulator out of the door.

I have already had trouble with these old window cranks, the only thing keeping me back from doing this is the cost. Can you give a rundown on everything costwise from the kits to wiring to switches. Because I want the power door locks with keyless entry and the power windows with two switches for the windows and one switch for the locks. Seems like it would cost alot.
