So finally after two days of busted knucles, and elbow grease I turned up the car I thought the Mustang should have been.
I started off by replacing the LCA's with J&M's and I (re)installed them correctly. There goes the wheelhop.
Then I got rid of the F150s rear suspension by swapping out my rear springs with Roush units. They lowered the car about a finger and leveled it out perfectly. The ride is only marginally stiffer and it feels much tighter during cornering, acceleration and braking. It also gave me a bit of a thicker sway bar feel by dialing in a bit of oversteer something that I definitely wanted to have.
There goes the mushy jacked up ride.
The best part by far was installing the Fays2 Watt's Link. Install issues/time aside I cannot begin to describe how much this piece changed out the car's character! Gone are the weird noises, and the sloppy handling! For a second I almost thought I was back in my 240 and I was driving a well tuned IRS car. Today I even took it out for a little drift test following a light shower and everything is just as it should be. No chattering axle, no noise just a smooth and controlled ride. Coming out of the corner the thing just grabs and go with the rear following the front of the car like it should.
I seriously cannot believe why Ford wouldn't put this standard it's not like it's that expensive (at a hair over 600 bucks it's the best money I've ever spent on a car).
I honestly cannot stop raving about the Fays2 link. It's just that brilliant! The drive to work was a blast today. I can't wait to run my next Auto-X event!
