Finally had time to pull the pan off my 351W with 600 miles on it that had #7 piston tap my head after a few 6000rpm limiter bounced runs.
The bearing spun and one shell was essentially riding on top of the other...hence the sloppiness and tapping.
Both shells have their ends crushed and spread. The crank is gouged, the rod needs resizing.
Anyway, I am puzzled as to why it did this?
Bearing is not blue at all.
I think that the rod or crank were out of size, or the rod big end distorted?
If it was oil starvation, I would think the bearings would have got burnt/blued????
Please chime in with your thought.
