Oof... yeah, I'd be a lot more comfy talking you through an NA tune... tough to cause much trouble with a sbf 302. But under boost, you can get into trouble quickly. If I were doing my own car, I'd be watching plugs, and for 8psi, I'd be looking to start somewhere around 22* total and 11.7:1 AFR. Then, I'd add 1* at a time. My guess is best power before detonation at ~24*

For reference, check out my tables on the 8-ish psi rows.

But, I have other questions vefore you get into this...

Do you have enough pump? What plugs are you running? Would like to see Autolite 3923s or equivalent NGKs, gapped at .030"-.035 depending on ignituon system.

Did you update all of the data i the quarterhorse with your MAF xfer curve, and the hi/lo slopes of your injectors? I'm just assuming you've done all the prep work before you start pushing the envelope. With boost, I'd definitely run timing off of a single table.

I didn't have all the fancy toys they got now.

So, you're trying to scale into boost territory now, using your MAF curve, right?

And you're trying to figure out where N/A ends and boost begins?

Am I in the neighborhood?

Yes partly

Do you know approximately what your max CFM is, N/A?

Walbro 255 pump
All MAF transfer data is in
All injector data is in
Autolite 3923 gapped at .035

Running fuel off single table at 11.6 all in at the upper end of the spectrum and have fuel scaled to boost.

Now attempting to run timing off a single table.

I’ve already successfully negated the ability for the tune to move to other tables for fuel or timing.

I’m just stumbling on putting together the timing table.

Here’s my fuel table for review

No but I’m about 92% VE at 4700 NA if that means anything

Drop your current tune file in here.

I need the model number of the tuner, and version number of whatever tuning software you're using to send your tune to the EEC.

No... The actual file that you feed to your ECU/Tuner. The file that you save as a backup of your tune.

Not really. It's indirectly related to the VE, but I wouldn't use it to calculate CFM.

I'm tuning with Moates Quarterhorse emulator chip. I'm editing the bin with Binary Editor version 5.946 its a .bin file and this forum is rejecting it

You should now be able to upload .bin files.

Good.

If you do really well, you might push the pump and injectors. I think you're likely to ru out of fuel i the 410-420rwhp range. So, be sure to keep an eye on the DC and fuel pressure when you start datalogging WOT pulls.

You should have disabled the 2 full timing tables and the WOT table from adjusting timing.

I disabled these tables you mention. This motor with GT40 iron heads on 10psi made 400 wheel horsepower on a dyno on 30lb injectors (FP was cranked a bit). I'm now running the AFR heads and 42lb but the blower is slowed down a bit with smaller crank pulley. I'll see 8psi at best. I'm expecting about the same power with the better heads and less boost.

Can you post your exact GUFB definition file? It must be the one you're using.

Let me know if you have file extension issues.

I have your .bin file. Now, I need the definition file.

  1. With his tune open in Binary Editor, look at the bottom-left status bar for the loaded strategy/definition filename. Double-clicking that name may show its revision and other details. Getting Started.doc
  2. Open Windows File Explorer, select This PC, and search for GUFB. Let the search finish.
  3. Look for a file ending in .xls, .xlsx, or .cry that matches the name shown in Binary Editor. A common location is C:\Binary Editor\DEF\GUFB, though the installation folder can differ. Moates
  4. Copy that file to the Desktop, then attach the copy just as he attached the BIN. No need to open or modify it.
If several GUFB files turn up, send a screenshot of the results and the definition name shown in Binary Editor so we can identify the right one.
