Progress Thread finally tuning (and more)

It’s a big ticket item but man you won’t worry about the block being a weak link anymore.
I really like the beefed up head bolt holes on the Boss 302 block. They’re 1/2” and all are blind (none extend into water jacket). Tq specs are 100 ft/lbs on these. That’s an important thing on a boosted engine. Really good clamping force on the head gaskets.

Btw, Dart blocks are not readily available off the retail shelf at the time being. BluePrint makes a beefed 302 block too but oddly enough they feature 7/16” head bolt holes. I could have replaced with a stock block but decided no to that option. So, the Ford Boss 302 ordered directly from Ford including free delivery to my local Ford dealer wound up being an easy choice for me

That's pretty slick. It's the kind of algorithm I want to write to do analysis and I want to capture data at every load and rpm bin, which is something I've written for the BS3. Then, the data is parsed so that whether accelerating, decelerating or at stable operation, it allows you to take ot all into account before adjusting each bin. What software are you using? Is this engine analyzer? I haven't learned to play with that, yet. Wouldn't put something custom past you, either...

I'm still working it out and in the experimental phase. I'm going to be out of pocket for a week or so but we can get together at some point and talk about how I set the thing up.

You'd be a good candidate for this method. I've got two largish projects I'm working at the moment and keeping up past my bedtime. :coff:

Hit me up on voice tonight.

Well... it sucks you have to go though all that, but i think you'll be happy in the end. So what's the plan exactly for a rotating assembly?
Original 92 factory rotating assembly with the factory forged pistons. This assembly was out, fully balanced and blessed by Weaver Racing near York PA not even 3k miles ago. There’s another Weaver Racing somewhere but this is Bob Weaver, one of the remaining old schooler of old schoolers 40 years counting.

Anyway, that rotating assembly

Do you need full a set of ARP head studs including the spacer bushings?
Will be reusing all the ARP fasteners and rotating assembly off and out of the existing 331 stock block motor in my Coupe. Just got the block as I’m at that power level of not trusting the stock block.

Hoping to have Bob prep the block and bless my plan again. I gladly drive from Annapolis MD to York PA for this man. I’ve had some local machine shops try feed me bs closer by then some trusted sources recommend Weaver. Hopefully he’s still in business. All you can find on the Internet about him is his name address and phone number. But every time I call that number somebody answered.
