How do you go about finding touchup paint? The car is non-stock paint so I just can't use those numbers, and I don't have any paperwork for the paint job. I tried the old trial and error off the shelf and that sure don't work. Thanks.

Has anyone ever had a paint shop do this? I know you can order spray and bottled touchup paint if you have the numbers, but has anyone had any luck taking the car to a shop and have them sell you touchup paint?

Take it to a paint store dealer. Make sure it has a spot at least 6" in diameter that is clean and buffed to shine. PPG dealer here has a color spectromoniter, bad spelling there, but they can lay that on your car and read the paint and it will give you a list of the closest color available to match what you have.
Its pretty accurate, and is honestly the best way to do it.
