Well after starting on it almost 2 years ago, I finally got my hands on a new wheel to finish the black conversion. Now I just have to get rid of those damn seats and find a better way to finish out the sill and scuff plates. Anyway, heres a before and after from this weekend.

Did you dye it? I remember my swap. We took a ton of pics and had fun doing it.

If your looking for cheap seats the summit/jegs seats are an option. Or corbeau is another cheap option...they have a new microfiber fabric available too and its SWEET! Its like the alcantara inserts on the 03-04 cobra seats.

Yep, duplicolor flat black, clearcoat, and lots of prep cleaning.

Just a generic steering wheel puller from local parts store.

Carpet is from 50resto. The one piece molded kind from ACC. I build the rear seat delete a while ago.

Yeah I thought about that where I had dyed a lot through my stereo shop, but I knew I could find someone to trade to a black interior. Looks like you did a good job.

Yeah same here. The car is a daily driver so my scuff panels are always chipping off. The only options I can think of is to either buy used black ones or maybe some billet/SS scuffs and remove the sill plates completely. I put on a few extra coats of clear for the kick panels and they have actually held up very well for over 2 years.

Do you have a picture showing the new carpet between the two seats where the console goes, without the console in? I need/want to know where they put the holes in it and how it's cut.

The conversion looks good. That black/grey isn't nearly as bad as the black/tan though.

Here is the only thing I can find without pulling the console back out. It's been a while since I swapped the carpet but IIRC you have to cut the holes for the shifter and ebrake so you can leave as much carpet as you want. Overall its a very nice piece, with thick jute padding and very durable. I'll try to pull the console sometime this week and get you some better shots.

ahh, yes, nice! isn't it so much better?

you're lucky you didn't have the black/saddle, though--hate it!!

nice job, man--mine was a lot of work, too, but well worth the outcome. enjoy!

Did you paint the dash? Looks great and I'm considering getting rid of the white in mine. Also same question about the door panels or were they all black to start with? Mine are black and white.

Yes it was painted in the car. I removed all the smaller panels and vents attached to the dash and masked the rest off.

Also same question about the door panels or were they all black to start with?

Everything in the car was gray/black two tone from the factory. I painted everything minus the main dash about 2 years ago. The dash was just recently done along with the steering wheel swap.
