my clutch pedal ( centerforce ) was set to start grabbing very close to the carpet. sometimes when the car is in 1st or reverse, it doesnt want to come out of gear if you are at a stand still. i messed with my firewall adjuster today and i think i fixed my problems. now the clutch pedal grabs a little further away from the carpet and coming out of 1st and reverse sitting still doesnt seem to be a problem now.

please explain to me what i done. when you turn the adjuster on the firewall to the left or right, what exactly moves ( besides the cable ) and causes the clutch to grab in different places?

do you think i fixed my problem?

thankx

It sounds like you did. You're basically making an adjustable sheath when you use a FWA. As you turn the FWA CCW, it makes the sheath act like it's longer, which pulls slack out of the cable adjustment.
When you turn the FWA CW, it shortens the sheath and gives you more slack.

What you did is just what I would have done too (you should have turned the FWA CCW to remove some slack).

Good luck.
