First Engine Build Advice Appreciated

I just pulled apart my first engine which was an '86 5.0HO, no problems with disassembly took about 2 hours. I'm going to start with the block and start all over, everything new except for the crank which will be machined and re-used along with a few other misc parts that can be salvaged. I'm looking at around 400 hp and about the same for torque give or take. I am going with Fuel Injection. Probably look at aluminum heads and get a packed heads an cam because this sounds like the best way to match parts. Also go with all after market intake performance parts and exhaust.

The block goes in to the machine shop next week for a clean up and all the needed machining work. This will be my first build - I'm looking for any advice on how to go about researching and choosing parts as well as any first timer assembly advice once I have the parts. Any information would be appreciated as I am looking for a direction to go.

Once the motor is done I'm going to look for a high mileage decent body 5.0 to put this engine in. I do have some freinds with experience that helped me tear it apart but I always like to go out and research on my own. Any advice or knowledge would be much appreciated.

Its most defiently going to be a stick, autos are no fun. And from what Ive been looking at there are good performance benefits from a roller cam so ill go with that and wasn't a roller cam stock in that engine anyways.

Ive read a few articles where they are able to produce horsepower real close to 400. Basically I'm looking for a real strong engine thats got great power, and if i can do some things to get gas economy when im not stopping on the pedal that would be good too (which may not be possible but im not to worried about that)...

Well i got the block before I even went looking for a car and I'm doing this for fun and i also want to know whats going into the car. I figure finding the car will be some what easier then finding a good engine that i know whats been done to it.

And money isnt a problem ill just save up and buy what i need. I have a buddy who has rebuilt several engines who is going to help me plus the person who is going to do the machine work will give me advice. The engine will obviously be bored out to start with a clean slate along with polishing the crank. and i have another source who can help build the engine. Ive read several articles of n/a engines reaching near 400 horse and besides that was just a bench mark. Like i said I'm just trying to build a strong engine i can beat on with good power. If i dont start here how am i going to learn anything?
