Hey guys I have a 2007 Mustang GT 5 speed and I was wondering if anyone else has felt a small hesitation when gradually accelerating in first gear. I'll come out on the clutch completely and the car starts going and as I gradually give it some gas it feels like a slight hesitation for just a second right in the middle of acceleration. Has anyone noticed this?

Do you have your a/c or defroster on? If so you are feeling the a/c pump cycling on.

Or maybe its the dreaded throttle lag. If that is the case your best bet is to do some research on this site concerning performance tuners. My 07 GT had this and I cured it with an SCT tuner and Brenspeed tune for about $360. It's a rather steep expense right after shelling out the amount that we pay for these cars, but worth every penny.

Hey man did you notice a pretty big improvement with just an SCT tuner and no CAI? I have enough for an SCT tuner right now and could probably save up for the CAI pretty quickly but actually Brenspeed had a pretty good deal with the tuner and C&L intake for $675 with custom tune. You think I should wait for that?

Throttle Lag

I just loaded a Brenspeed 93 octane tune, already had a K&N CAI. Man, that throttle lag is history. Power AND mileage are also improved. Go for it!

I didn't install a CAI, just the tunes. The performance difference was huge. The car performs as though it's a completely different vehicle. I'm waiting on installing the CAI as my dealer's service department is a royal pain. I've let them know when I've been unhappy and I don't want to give them anything in the way of ammunition to use against me.
I would say if you can do the whole thing and have no reservations about installing an obvious mod under your hood, then go for the whole thing. But the tune by itself will give you huge gains in drivability.
