I was driving SW of San Antonio, TX this weekend headed to a family reunion. I was a little late, so I might have been going a little over the speed limit, ok a lot over the speed limit. I was about a mile from where I needed to be when I crested a hill to find a buzzard and a hawk eating some road kill. As I approached I see the buzzard decide to start flying right into my path. I sped up to keep the bird from hitting my side window then, THUMP, man did that bird smack the rear drivers qtr panel and rear tire. I just knew I'd have a huge dent or scratches on the car. However, I saw no damage, other than a dead stinky buzzard, to the car. Mustang built buzzard tough.

when i drove accross the country in my new stang, i took out this massive crow with my front drivers headlight. it was flyign across the highway very low down and i was speeding pretty bad and i could just see it happen in slow motion. this massive thud, and that crow was no more. i pulled over at a rest stop, the head light was fine, but there was feathers and crap all over the headlight and grill, and some even in the engine compartment.

When I read the title of the thread I thought you meant you beat a guy in a race, not an actual kill. Those poor birds, at least they went out in style.

I was reading the post and was trying to figure out what type of car would have the nicknames "buzzard" and "hawk" (Buick Skylark, Eagle Talon, etc...).
