I scored this one on Ebay...I think it was made by the outfit your talking about...Visteon & CR racing...was a shop in Indy that made Nascar and Formula stuff.. Seen to many issues on the Mish's to take a chance.

After being here for a number of years, I often wonder how many idle/tuning issues could be solved by switching to the Fox design...

I need to get some 4:30's in the B asap!

mishimotos are notorious for leaks but the up side to that is that they know they sell crap and will send out a replacement very easily. yes the argument is i'd rather have no warranty and it work than a crappy one with a lifetime warranty. I've had my fluidyne now for easily 6 or so years now with no problems. and they have/had the same rep as mishimoto.

I love it, so much more hit then I ever had w/ a 302 based engine even when I had my Paxton on it.

I went with the 75MM TB b/c it will move over 900 CFM of air according to accufab.

wonderful. I have been debating what tb to go with for my build I have a 75 already. Trickflow has a 90mm intake though as well as a 75mm so I was pondering upgrading. I have yet to find a 90mm tb though since I've been looking. That will save me some money sticking with what I got

I was debating going to the accufab 90MM but my intake opening is only 75 and the 75 flows more then enough air for what my engine will need. Im hoping to get it back on the dyno in the next few weeks to see what I picked up for HP w/ the fox swap.

thanks for the link and its amazing that they would redesign the intake and egr when they could have just used the same stuff from the foxes

The only reason I can find online was a concern about fitment under the hood. To those that have done the swap, was there any clearance issues with a stock hood? This would include the stock hood liner. Memory tells me that the corner of the intake hits the hood liner, but that would be from a long-ago post.

The stock intake was taken from the 5.0 Thunderbird, which was a shorter intake. Wouldn't surprise me if Ford was worried about clearance and potential warranty claims for a "chipped hood", and picked an inferior part out of the parts bin.

I had the swap on both my Explorer & 93 Cobra intakes, both were running a 1/2 phenolic spacer. I had no issues with the stock hood & had the liner intact.

I think it had something to do with the strut tower brace that the '94-'95 GTs came with from the factory. There would have been no clearance issues if they had forgone the brace, however, they might have if they had used the Fox intake along with a brace tall enough to clear it.

#36's. Could probably get away with #30's but at the time I was not sure what I was doing w/ the car yet so I decided it was better to go a little bigger.

I had no fitment issues b/c I have a 3.5" hood but the only thing that no longer fits is my strut tower brace and that thing cleared everything before. But I didnt plan on putting it back on anyway

wow it really works.

put 2 egg's in the radiator ...it stopped leaking

Put in a bottle of stop leak for added measure.

Figure it a good temp fix until the new radiator and brackets come next week. Monday is SN95 Throttle body VS Fox Throttle body set up on the dyno. Going in for a retune b/c of the different ECU I have in it ( I think its rich) and b/c of the different air flow b/c of the fox swap. Even though it wont be ideal for a SN95 VS Fox comparison b/c its done a year apart at least it will give some idea of any significant power improvements.

Thank you again. I have a set of 30's I got from Guero years ago. Guess I'll give them a shot. The tweecer should tell me if they are being over used or whatever right?

yeah Im pretty sure it can tell you at what duty cycle they are at. Even as high as 85% your probably fine. I dont think Im over 55% duty cycle w/ my 36#
