was a disappointment 14.6 with 3.73 gear and nittos tires and upper/lower control arms, and bolt on. spun 1, 2, little in 3rd may be its time for some slicks only way to not spin is to launch at 2000 to 3000 rpms which help a little bit

no reason you shouldn't be running mid to high 13's. practice on your launch some, don't be afraid to heat those nitto's up! what were your short times and trap speeds?

practice practice practice

even if you have a million passes under your belt, each car is different

with time you will find that ideal combo of burnout, launch, shift points, etc

dont spend any money until you squeeze everything you can out of your current setup

are your nittos drag radials or street tires? if they are street tires, it would be smart to get drag radials as even a stock stang cant hook up on street tires

if they are drag radials, heat em up!! they need a solid burnout to get the best traction

It's your driving. That 60ft is what's killing you! The Nitto is tuff to figure out. Burn it too long and it will get guiw and spin like a street tire. It doesn't take much too heat em. Practice at it. After 20-25 runs you should have them down pat! Then you 60's should be down to 1.9- 1.8 and you will be turning mid 13 sec times!

you have the mph for mid-low 13's...just get that 60' where it needs to be and you'll be good.

Well I ran a 12.87 first timeout with just my 331 on street tires. Very frustrating running street tires, spun all the way through 3rd gear! Slapped some slicks on second time out and ran a 12.24. That was only my second time at track. With some practice like everyone else said I'll hopefully hit high 11's.

Just bought a paxton 1220SL........hehe = maybe low 11's

The mph isnt bad, like stated by everyone, practice. 2.6s are killing you, but even dropping that to a 2.1 should snag low 14s. Get the car on a real tire and 13s should be easy.

Its all onto the driver now, so go out there and get the times down.

BTW 3000 clutch drops on street tires = NO GOOD.

Check out your posi and be sure it's operating right. Jack the rear up, put the car in neutral, and have someone hold a tire as you try to turn the tire/wheel on the opposite side of the diff by hand. If you can easily spin one while the other is being held, your posi needs a rebuild. You should be able to at least get in the area of a 2.0 sixty foot on street tires with practice, but not if power is only going to one wheel.

No; street tires 'cup' in the middle, unlike drag radials when you lower the pressure.
