First time at track...help

I am retarded (kinda) how do I hot wire it? I am decent with mechanical stuff but electrical stuff makes me p*** myself...

Two more things I did not see mentioned here: Go to the track with 1/4 tank of gas. Liquid is heavy. Try carrying 6 gallons of milk, three in each hand, you'll see what I mean. Also, Red Line Water Wetter or Royal Purple Ice. I run two bottles of RLWW and it made a huge difference in my engines temp. I run my street tires at 20psi and managed a 2.0 60'. Practice, Practice, Practice!!!

Take two wires and put female slip connectors on them (the kind that go on speakers). Connect these to the battery, the black to ground and red to the positive side. When looking down at the connector on the fan the wire closest to the driverside is the ground and the one down and on the pass side is the high speed positive wire, hook up to these two. If you touch the ground wire to the battery and it kicks on, you know the fan is working but for some reason its not getting a signal to turn on and its more than likely the ECT sensor, if it doesn't work at all then its the fan.

even untuned, that is rediculous. you could self tune it closer with that.

and you dont need an aftermarket radiator. I thought I did, until I did a manual fan switch. the thing never goes over 180 certified by autometer

I agree, its the coolant temp sensor. had that same problem in my daily driver (93 saturn) new $13 sensor and all is well.

SNOOZER.....Your talking about my times being ridiculous right? I dont know what else to self tune...

KILLERCANARY.....Regular old speaker wire would work right?......the connection on the fan isnt the one with the big harness right? I cant remeber if I know the connections your talking about and its raining cats and dogs here in VA.....

Speaker wire will work for a SHORT period of time, I say short because the fan draws a LOT of amps and will melt anything smaller than say 12-16 gauage wire in no time at all, but for just testing it you'll be fine. The harness is the big on right on the back of the fan motor. There is only one harness there and it has 3 big wires going into it, on is a ground, next is the low speed power wire, and next to it is the high speed power wire. Connect the female "speaker" connectors on the fan on the ground and high speed power side. (I'll try and take a pic for you if you want) Connect the other bare metal ends of the wire to the battery, hook up the + side first, then touch the other to the ground... it should start immediately. If it does, then you know its not the fan. Its been raining here all damn day too!

I am gonna be out there all day tomorow trying to figure out how to make her start so I should be able to try and get the fan to come on.....If you had time to grab a pic that would help but if not then thats cool I will sorta "guess" as I go..... If I can figure that out then I want to do manual fan switch tommorow while Im out there so I am sure I will have to PM you for help on that too ..... Thanks man
