Very nicely done! The forethought, engineering and fabrication to make this work is truly easy to understate and you are quite modest in doing so. This isn't a feat for the faint of heart and yet you make it look so easy! Great results for your first time out especially on a 26x8.5 tire!
I would be super curious to know what kind of inlet temps you saw with the 2.8 and what kind of boost you are making? Have you had the car on the dyno to get some power figures yet?
I can't wait to see where you go from here

The drag strip is the dyno. Have not put it on a chassis dyno, don't plan to. The dynamics of going down track under load is no where near what a stationary pull on a dyno would provide. At least that is my opinion. HP calculators say over 1,000 HP if they are accurate. Right now I am seeing a peak of 17 psi of boost. I dont believe I have enough belt wrap on the crank pulley and am getting some belt slip. This blower should be making over 20 psi. My air charge temps at the end of the 1/4 mile run are just over 104-105*. At the start of the run they are in the 88-89* range. I don't turn on the inter-cooler pump until after the burnout. Thanks for the compliments. I also can't wait to see where it goes from here Lol.

The following picture is the best one I have of the serpentine belt going around the crank pulley. As you can see the belt wrap is not optimal. I will definitely need to address that issue. Don't know why it passed muster when everything was being put together. Possibly due to 978 other things needing attention at the same time Lol.

the stack of dimes welding is most impressive... but you gave away the true secret to the build... Mr Dead Blow.
Most impressive vehicle/build, thanks for sharing, and looking forward to updates.
Best of luck getting it dialed in.

How do you figure a dead blow had anything to do with the build?

I am no blower specialist.. but that looks to me like 50% belt wrap if not a little better. Is the seriously not optimal? I understand the more contact the better, but geez. I guess you could fight belt slippage with a blower, or the plethora or problems with a turbo..

Excellent craftsmanship and engineering! Beautiful engine as well. I wish mine looked that nice!

OK, I see it now... the dead blow hammer that was used to prop the inlet manifold when the welding was done and for taking pictures. Could not have done the project without it Lol..

Thanks. It is speculation at this time. I am thinking it needs more belt wrap. The blower should be putting out about 20+ psi. I see a peak of 17 psi. Is the 17 psi reading the result of belt slip, or is the engine just using more of the air that the blower is producing so I am not seeing the higher boost number that we see on my friends car with the same blower? I don't see a lot of belt dust usually caused by slippage, and the car is quicker and faster than my friends car, so it is producing the HP that he sees with a 20 psi reading. There are a lot of things that could be causing the discrepancy.

My son finally posted the link to the video he took with his cell phone of my 1st 1,000' pass during my licensing runs. He did not get the score board, but lifting at the 1,000' cones and coasting through the 1/4 mile traps, the car went 9.02 at only 145 mph. As the video will show, the 60' sucked. Much better shot of the car though.
