Nice times for the first time out with the new parts!!! Get some pulleys on there and you'll be in the low 14's! Are you staying in 3rd or shifting to 4th?

I have 3.55's and I have to shift to 4th. I trap around 48-4900 rpm in 4th.

I had someone tell me I could trap in 3rd so I tried but I hit the rev limiter at 6000 rpm way before the trap.

I'm VERY surprised you hit the rev limiter since its set at 7000rpms in our 5 speed cars, not 6250 like the 93-older ones. MANY have verified this, including myself.

Ohhh.... that explains it. Thanks for the heads up though, its been so long since I had stock gears that I didn't remember. I know my mom's bullitt with 3.27's crosses in 3rd at 101mph, and it DOES have a 6250 rpm limit, so I thought that maybe with 10 less MPH trap speed that it was possible that the 3.55's wouldn't be too much but I was wrong in thinking that.

I wonder what gear you'd be able to trap in with the stocker 2.73's?!?!

Probably second !! I'm exagerating but I'm sure 3rd would have plenty left to go once crossing the trap.

Nice times . Your 1/8 is very similar to mine, so that gives me an idea what I can expect. And Killercanary, I cross the 1/8 around 5400-5600 in 3rd with my 3.73's, there's no way I'd make it a full 1/4 in 3rd

yellowgtbeast- the T4MO has a rev limit of 7000rpms. It has been confirmed by many on here. I saw it was set like that in my EEc Tuner's stock setting and couldn't believe my eyes, so I showed Dave at Kauffman's what I was looking at to see for sure that I was interpreting it correctly... sure enough, 7000rpms is where its at from the factory. I have made dyno puls over 6300rpms, and I have BURIED (not on purpose) my stock tach a number of times doing burnouts and such.

MTO- I bet it'd be close. I know and AODE could cross in 2nd with 2.73s with a trap speed of 90mph because my old AODE vert didn't shift until ~92mph into 3rd. I guess a 3.27 might be the ideal gear ratio for a stock car wanting to cross in 3rd since a shift into 4th with 3.55's and 3.73's has a stock car crossing at under the peak HP rpm.

Low- I know you won't want to cross in 3rd with 3.73's, but 3.55's would be close. Actually, by using the analyzer on http://www.mustangworks.com and putting in 3.55 gears and a 25.7" tall tire (which is near stock), it shows a RPM reading of 5700 in 3rd running 92mph. Since 1/4 trap speed is actually an average speed of the last 66' of the track, you will probably cross at like 95-96mph which yields a rpm reading 5900rpms. So, since the stock setup is done by 5200-5500, a shift to 4th might be the better choise here. If it was my car I'd get some 27" tires and have at it since you would NOT have to shift into 4th and you'd cross at just a hair over the peak which is ideal. Sorry for going a little off topic 94tang, but it might help you and others to know and think about this.

Well any advice on launching a car on 247/??/17 street tires? I got a 2.6 and a 2.5 60' my first two times ever going to the track... also my reaction time was like .896 and 1.089. Should i launch the second the last yellow light comes on?

Jeez, I didnt realise how short your gears became with 3.73's. It seems that youre 5th gear has to be way over driven to keep the RPMs down at 60 cause Im at like 2800 at 60 in the talon. But on my old setup I trapped 101 in 3rd gear, and I wish I could take it higher in each gear cause 1st is almost a waste.

Killer, I was just kidding, but thanks for the info . I know a guy with a 347 sc vert that's hitting the rev limiter in 4th in the 1/4 with 3.73's, trapping around 120-126. Im probably gonna switch to 3.27's or 3.55's when I get my engine done.

as soon as mine hits a little past the 6000 mark my rev limiter kicks in. I know that the factory tacs are off a little but 1000 rpms off. I highly doubt that.
