I just hooked up my anderson motorsports pms unit in my car. I have a pretty good idea on whats going on. I filled out my vehicle spec sheet and sent it to them and what I got back isnt helping me out at all. It was pretty much empty. I anchor points set it up and so far when it drives I am not having problems. Its cold and warm starts that I am confused about a little. Like how much have some of you pulled out of the fuel start option, And idle control, And stuff like that. Do any of you guys have your set ups listed so I can get an idea of things. In areas I know what I want as far as tunning because I can get things figured out with tunning I just dont know if my numbers are safe that I am using.

I have a few "base" setups but without your entire setup, I don't think anyone could be much help.

My biggest suggestion would be to pay for an hour of dyno time. If you feel comfortable tuning it yourself than it shouldn't be more than $70-100 for an hour with someone in the shop tuning it.

I have tuned 8-9 cars with a PMS and I have gotten to the point where it will take me 25-30 minutes for an n/a car that is running in piggyback on the dyno.

My other tips would be to make sure the TPS is setup right as it will affect it going into the idle map and make sure it reads WOT. The other is to set the base timing at 10* with the spout out and control the rest through the PMS . . .

I have my timing set at 10. I set my tps at .98. And set it up idle and wot. I am getting it to run well but I dont know if my numbers are dipping too low or too high in my tune. It has a very rich start up. It will flood when fully warmed up when you try to start it. I have gotten it pretty well but I think I am puling to much fuel during start up. I set it up with the base tune from rick anderson but there still is alot to do as far as start up warm and cold. It fires up right away when cold, I am just starting to work with the fuel cold selection and temp contro.

The only dyno is about 4 hours away. I just trying to take care of drivibilty. Also this went away along time ago but came back. My check fuel, checkoil, check coolant, lights started to flash all at the same time. I have an aftermarket radiator and overflow. The overflow doesnt have the conector for the harness on it so I didnt use it. it wasnt a problem before. all this tuff flashes but the check engine does not. The engine is brand new, great oil pres and doesnt burn or leak ant fluids. they are all topped off all the time. Like I said it didnt always do this.

in order to tune with PMS, you need to give her chocolate so she is not at your ear all the time. this will let you concentrate more and take more test drives to test out your tune

Ha Ha. No she drives greay. My o2 read out during cruise bounces betweem rich and lean around .48 where I want it. Not having a wideband tuning is just harder but I am getting it down and understanding most of what to do. I was just curios as to thers idle set ups and fuel temp control during warm up and cold and warm starts. tat is where I am having to most troubles. I am just curios If my settings are safe. Example the ca seems to like -45% fuel or more for start up, What should I do for timing with that and is that safe to remove that much fuel, And idle fuel levels, it runs pretty rich at idle. This is my first time using the ford anderson motorsports unit. I used to live in Chicago and tune shops are just around the corner. I just had my cars tuned after I built them but now in Durango Co I am far from any tune shops.
