I had been babying the car around for a week or so because of how lean it ran at the track. I finally went home this last week on leave and met of with an old stang buddy of mine in Norman who had a used but still functioning "MAFter Burner". I know it's just a temp fix bit we fiddled around with it for a few minutes( HOURS ) and got the pony running really nice on 89 octane. No pinging, stumbles, or high RPM power loss-as a mtter of fact my power band seemed to explode after 3500, which was new for this car. As I was tooling around Edmond yesterday I spotted a nice same circa GT with the "spring" appearance package(I think and hope that's only an Oklahoma thing). We get rolling together and we line them up at a roll and he gets a bit of a jump but about 4 seconds into I start to leave him like no other. I was really happy with the results of the A/F adjustments we made using the burner and an old 2441 A/F ratio monitor I threaded in in place of my rear 02 sensors. I can't wait to get my other mods finished so I can go get a custom tune-that should be nice. . . .

it's pretty cool the type of results you get with the Mafter-Burner!

I really need to fix up my A/F ratio after my plenum and t/b install. Im hoping to take a trip up to Kauffmans this summer.

The Mafter burner plugs into the MAF harness and allows you to adjust the signal that the MAF sensor sends to the computer. We used an A/F guage to help get it close and drove it around to monitor the changes, once we were happy we closed her up and called it a day. It really made a very noticeable difference and I plan on using it to help with the tuning until I get can get my mods done and a real tune stuffed in there.
