flamming river help

im thinking of pulling my a/c and ps pump out since the ps is dying and a/c doesnt work (what a b**ch in so. cal.) but when searching flamming river on summit there is 4 pages of their stuff.....actually 7 but not all of it is for a manual rack.

here is the search i did, which kit has all that i need but nothing i dont. i dont want to buy a bunch of stuff i dont need but want all the stuff i do need in one kit.

You will want FLA-FR: 1890, 1890Q, 1503, or 1520. I got FLA-FR1890. Here's the differences:
1890 is a complete kit with the steering shaft and tie rod ends
1890Q is the same, except quick ratio
1503 does not have the steering shaft and tie rod ends
1520 is the same, except quick ratio

Hopefully this will help you out some. On Summit's site, click to compare the 4 and you will see the differences.

not bad, 350 with shiipping. no i have to decide if i want to fix my ac or throw it out....hmmm no a/c or ps pump would make a lot of weight difference and really clean the engine compartment up

I hope this is mostly a strip car, 'cause no P/S in a tight parking lot is what makes the incredible Hulk mean and green. You will have big arms when you do a lot of parking or turning at slow speeds.

Exactly! Chicks dig big arms, trust me! lol, I don't think turning at slow speeds is that hard and I have 255 tires up front. Just takes a little technique which you'll learn right away. Just my opinion.

is the quick ratio harder to turn then the other manual? I was thinking about going to a manual rack aswell. another question i have is how do i route my belt now that the P.S. Pump will be gone. All i will have is the crank alt water pump left.

if having a manual rack makes for big arms, im defenitely getting it now. cant always go to the gym ill have 165 tires up front so they wont make that much drag....i hope

86bluecobra: From my understanding, the quick ratio will make turning at very slow speeds harder. For a given turn of the steering wheel the wheels will turn more. That being said, I've never driven a car with the quick ratio manual steering, only my own which is normal ratio. Hopefully another member can chime in with their experience with the quick ratio.

luckythirteen13: Yea, I think with 165's you won't have much of a problem turning at slow speeds. Good luck with your conversion!
